Self-Esteem & Emotional Coaching for Children and Teens

the jdhd junior process
This customized process, designed to support those carrying the weight of "someone who learns differently," is especially helpful for teens (aged 12-18) with ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences.
Through this work, your child will learn tools to:
-
regulate their emotions
-
shift negative self-talk
-
and build a sense of self-trust that can support them far beyond the classroom.
tm
Give your child the support they didn’t know how to ask for...

Your child is bright, creative, and full of heart;
yet they still feel like they’re constantly falling behind.
They shut down when something feels hard.
Or lash out after a day of masking.
Or say things like “I’m just dumb" and really mean it.
You’ve tried parent coaching, tutoring, accommodations...
And still, something’s missing.
Because it’s not about willpower.
It’s not even (yet) about “ADHD-friendly strategies.”
It’s about how they feel about themselves when things don’t come easily.
Give them what they’ve needed all along:
A space to feel safe, capable, and understood.
Because when a child feels safe in their own skin, they can finally be curious enough to grow.

here's how it works
The JDHD Junior Process has 5 stages of coaching that include:
-
Weekly 1-to-1 coaching sessions (in person or via Zoom.)
-
Between-session skill-building support.
-
A tried and tested step-by-step customized framework for your child's best success.
1
tilling the soil
I gently guide your child to name what feels hard and what they most need—just one piece of the emotional load at a time. This reduces overwhelm and helps them start identifying the inner patterns that keep them stuck.
2
sowing seeds
When your child feels seen, heard and understood, we are ready to start planting practical seeds for thriving with learning differences.
3
nurturing
With the relief that comes from easing anxiety, shifting unhelpful self-beliefs, and facilitating emotional processing, something new begins to grow: curiosity.
And when a child feels curious, they become open to creative problem-solving, because they finally feel safe enough to try.
4
growing

New choices bring real change. At this stage, your child is ready to learn new skills. Through trial and insight, we discover the practical tools that work for your child.
5
thriving

When your child feels ready to "go it alone" we'll create a personal blueprint for continued growth, so that they can launch off with a custom toolbox of their most successful strategies and set intentions for their path ahead.
1
naming

I gently guide your child to name what feels hard and what they most need—just one piece of the emotional load at a time. This reduces overwhelm and helps them start identifying the inner patterns that keep them stuck.
2
taming

I use EFT tapping—a gentle, evidence-based technique that involves tapping on specific acupressure points while focusing on the source of emotional distress—to ease anxiety, shift unhelpful self-beliefs, and facilitate emotional processing and relief.
3
reframing

As anxiety softens towards self-acceptance, something new begins to grow: curiosity.
And when a child feels curious, they become open to creative problem-solving, new choices, and real change, because they finally feel safe enough to try.
